What is Mental Health?

Mental health is the interaction between our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we are able to cope with the daily stress over our individual lives, our relationships with others, and how we the choices we make.

What is Mental Illness?

Mental illness is when a person's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors function outside of cultural and social norms, and causes disfunction in their lives and the lives of those around them.  Not all behaviors outside of social norms are considered mental illness, but only when those behaviors have negative consequences.
